I ordered the Ocean Clay and received it promptly after 3 days. First impressions this product makes include the nice, Hawaiian-like, pineapple smell and the unique packaging with the mason jar-like lid. Not sure if “natural shine” is the same as matte finish, but I would describe it best as matte finish.
The smell is non-existent once you actually apply it to the hair, although as it is the first “clay” product I have bought, it was a little difficult getting it deep into my hair. Shehvoo markets this product as also acting as a hair mask, which I believe is the reason that this product does not wash completely out with just water. This brings me to my next point: once Ocean Clay is in your hair, it has a very strong hold, which is very reworkable and noticeable if you run your hand through your hair. I felt as if my hair was more texturized than normal, and blowdrying is a must before using the product itself.
Price is a bit more steep to what I’m used to, a few dollars shaven off the product would not hurt, but I understand the benefits that this clay brings to the table in addition to just being a styling product. I would recommend this product for short and medium length hair and would consider purchasing again.

Really happy with this clay! It has an amazing smell, not too overpowering like some other hair products can be. In my opinion this will work well for both men and women. I also really like the matte finish of the product. I would say it leaves a natural shine and doesn’t make your hair feel dry/damaged. It breaks down in the hands quite well, and goes into my hair smoothly. I have used this product on its own, and with a pre styler, both works just fine. All in all, I like the feel of it in my hair. The hold and the feel of the product is reduced during the day, but I would say that it expected behavior for the majority of products out there. I have had no problems applying more product later on if I needed to. I would say the hold is about medium for my hair, which is short/medium length, but the hold could probably be better if you apply more product. I use about the tip of my finger worth of product, and I go for a messy styled forward fringe. My hair type is fine but dense. I think it leaves a great texture. This has definitely become one of my go-to hair product.

It is the best hair styler I have ever used in my life!!!
I use to use the Sexy hair molding paste and it was one of the best I had use but it still had that over shiny look and it kept clumps of my hair stuck together so it was very obvious that I had gel in, Then I watched Dre Drexler’s new hair style video (btw I took his advice and I cut my hair just like his and my entire family encluding me love it)after I saw that video I thought he was lying because of how natural his hair still looked, however it peeked my interest and I had to try it. Now my hair looks amazing it has a perfect natural shine and it has a perfect hold that isn’t so much that it’s like spikes and it’s just strong enough to keep your hair still unless you mess with it. I give this product a 11 out of 10 stars and I highly recommend it for anyone who takes pride in their hair like I do. THANK YOU DRE DREXLER!!!

Ocean Clay has to be the best clay I have used period. The hold is outstanding but the thing that surprises me the most is how it really gives my hair such a soft feeling when using it. It makes me feel as if I just used the Activating Oil Cleanser. Definitely will be buying more Ocean Clay! Keep up the good work guys!

I received Ocean Clay a few days ago and it is the best product I ever used. It keeps my hair style in place and doesn’t have a greasy look or feeling like other products. Ocean Clay also smells amazing! I recommend this product you won’t be disappointed at all.

gave this product a chance despite the $21 shipping fee all the way to Singapore XD. well an honest review would be that the hold and re-styleable-ness is pretty much the same as claymation which i have been using for years now. just that the ocean clay smells better and is healthier for my hair. so yep i’m switching over to using ocean clay until another clay is able to claim that they have even more beneficial ingredients inside their clay. iv’e also bought the activating oil cleanser and have been using it for a week now. my hair health seems to be slightly improving but i will need more time to tell. all in all thanks dre drexler for considering the importance of the health of our hair and not just the hold and smell and what not!

I decided to give this product a try as I use the activating oil cleanser and I love it. So this clay gives you a great hold that will keep your hair in position for a long time. It gives your hair a natural shine which I do not like as I am more of a matte guy. If you want a clay with great hold and natural shine this is for you. I am gonna be trying claymation soon since it gives a matte finish.

I bought this for the first time when it first came out. I tried it, and LOVED it. At work we were doing this secret santa thing & we had to write things i wanted & i wrote ocean clay and received 2, i have medium to long hair & i love this product, i think i will forever stick to it & i just purchased 2 more because i ran out.
I do in fact recommend this product because it does not look greasy or anything or makes your hair look overpowered with product, it looks natural, with a good hold.
When i style my hair, i like to blow dry with heat, but first i warm up the product by using the blow dryer on the product making it a bit softer, because since it’s a clay, it is thick and hard, so what works for me is warming it up and then applying to my hair.

Honestly this product is so amazing especially with its older brother the AOC! My hair is honestly never been better and I’m never going to stop buying this clay. This clay is constantly in my daily ritual and I never get tired of it. (Also that smell tho😛)

I have recently purchased this clay after seeing many reviews on this product. This clay does what is advertised and the firm hold natural shine is pretty accurate. One thing I noticed about the product is the scoop. I’ve seen a couple of youtubers who have said that the product is really thick and hard to work out of the jar. I disagree. The product is thick but its really easy to scoop out. Compared to some of the previous products I’ve tried such as claymation and apothecary 87 clay pomade, this product is actually really light and it doesn’t take a lot of effort to style your hair with. Its been about 2 weeks since I started using this product and its honestly amazing.

amazing clay. better my claymation and cavalier. those two make my hair little grease half a day. thick and straight hair hold all day. ez to use and apply onto hair. wash out no problem. restyle very good, and the hold not lose when restyle. i love how this product can suck oil like quicksand but not aggrressive as quicksand. nice texture and healthy looking. beat the hell off claymation and cavalier. they just have big ads and PR. this is the clay for thick hair guys.

I’ve been using this product for a month now and I am really blown away from this product. It’s really great at holding and does add a bit of a mild shine but not too much were it makes it look “greasy.” I do strongly recommend this product to those who are interested since it’s great on the hair but it still works great with thick hair since I have thick hair but doesn’t bring that much issues when applying. Overall great and does smell great!
